HMS Surprise

I just finished my Intro to Maya class at Gnomon a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would post my final project so everyone could see it. This model of the HMS Surprise was built using only nurbs since that was the main focus of the class. But I am taking a polygon modeling class this semester. I am really enjoying the classes and I am learning a lot. I'll post more projects as I get them done.

Have you ever heard about Blender (www.blender.org)? - It is a great, powerful and free (opensource, GNU) Software for 3D modeling. It also supports animating and other stuff. I like and use it a lot.

On http://www.elephantsdream.org/ You can download a short movie, made with Blender.

But still the ship is amazing. It just needs to be colored and textured. And rendered, which will take a while, if it is colored. And textured.

Good luck.
