Ok, So I haven't posted anything in a while since I've been buried in work, but I did come across this sketch I did a while back when I used to work at Disney. It's been almost two years since I hung up my mouse ears, and if anything, I miss all the wonderful people I got to know and work with. The thing I don't miss however are the meetings upon meetings...

Little Match Girl

I did a few drawings for the Gum or Mints blog. This past months theme was the Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Andersen. It's a pretty depressing story, but a good story. In a sad way, it reminds us what the season is all about. you should also check out the other contributors by clicking here.

Captain Midnight

So, earlier this year I got a DVD called Capt. Midnight. It was a serial from the 30's So i did a color sketch, just for my own amusement.

Biker Chick

I went to the drawing club a couple of weeks back and am just getting around to posting my drawings from that session, enjoy.

Matador

So I decided that I needed to go to the drawing club to get in some much needed practice. The theme was Matador and I had a good time. I've been working on the computer so much lately that it feels good to draw with good ol pencil and paper. I think I'll go back next week.

So much for my posting once a month, but I have a pretty good excuse. I have been pretty busy with my brand new baby boy. here is a cute image I did for my father-in-law. we put it on a mug for his birthday as "hint" that Paden was on his way, and now he's here : )

Ok seeing that my last post was last september I think it's time to add a new post. I am gonna try real hard from now on to post something, lets say at least once a month. Here's a quick plane sketch/ photoshop color, nothing great, just something to post : ) enjoy.

HMS Surprise

I just finished my Intro to Maya class at Gnomon a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would post my final project so everyone could see it. This model of the HMS Surprise was built using only nurbs since that was the main focus of the class. But I am taking a polygon modeling class this semester. I am really enjoying the classes and I am learning a lot. I'll post more projects as I get them done.

This is a cannon I did in Maya, I have started taking classes and this is one of my first attempts. I am still figuring out details like rope and rigging , but I didn't think it was too bad for a first try.

So Shawnee ( my wife ) has been giving me a hard time for not updating my blog, and she's right. It's been 5 months since I added anything. So here are a couple of Stylized things I did while at Disney. This on is from Cars and the one below is Monsters Inc. enjoy.

color study

I was going through some old files and thought I would post some of my work that I thought turned out nice. This is a little color study of acrylic on cardboard. the original is about 8.5x11

baby dragon

I "painted" this baby dragon on the Wacom Cintiq in photoshop. I like how it's turning out, kind of a naturalist look, but with more saturated colors. up to this point it's taken up about 2 and a half hours.

Red Baron

This is a cardboard model I did of the red baron, I used a recycled backing from an old tracing paper pad, and used black and white marker for the line work. It's about 5" tall with a 6" wingspan. It was fun to design and build, kinda like the old balsa wood, rubber band powered airplanes. I plan on doing others in the same style, that is if I can find the time to.
